Love Means Using Yellow & Turquoise

Sharing is caring!

I’m nearly finished with a little project I’ve been working on so I thought I’d go ahead and show you one of the parts that’s already finished!  I’m so tickled with it!

The frame’s looking a little chartreus-y in this picture, but I promise you, it is a glorious, happy sunshine yellow!

Want to see the whole thing in all it’s glory??

This whole thing cost me a grand total of 1 quarter!   My friend picked up the wreath for me at a thrift store for $1.50 and I traded her two candlesticks for it.  And it is a large, sturdy wreath there folks!  I found the cheap plastic frame at a thrift store for a quarter and the flowers are made out of old t-shirts I found in the bottoms of my drawer and just started cutting up. I followed this fabric rosette tutorial to make them!

Here’s a before of the frame in all it’s brown plastic ugliness.

I spray painted it yellow and my spray paint just would not work! It kept clumping up and getting little air bubbles so I started wiping it off thinking I would just brush on some acrylic and la di da, I actually liked it all rubbed off like that, so I just let it be!  Cut some black cardstock to fit inside and then cut out the love and the bird with my cricut. It’s just yellow cardstock that I used a glue stick to attach!  Used some handy duct tape to tape a string onto the back of the frame and then tied it in a knot around the wreath. Used a glue gun to attach the flowers.

And soon you’ll be able to see where this beauty is hanging, but for now… just enjoy all the loveliness that is yellow and turquoise together!
