Wrapping Up the School Year!

I teased you with some pics last night, so here’s a tad more detail… although, there’s not much of a tutorial or anything… just me getting wordy again!

For our first teacher gift, I found these FANTASTIC flashcards over at Urban Bliss as a free printable.  She printed hers out on heavy cardstock and gave them as flashcards with brownies for the gift. I decided to turn mine into a sign because I have this slight addiction to wood.  And maybe (just a little bit), because my hubby’s been bugging me to start using the large stockpile I’ve got going in our garage!

This was actually an old cabinet door I got in the as-is section of IKEA.  I paid $1 for it and just spray-painted it blue.  I printed out her flashcards on regular copy paper and then cut them out by hand and Mod Podged them on.  I did this late, late last night (I tell myself I work best under pressure… really, it just makes me tired), so I only had time for 1 heavy coat.  Hopefully it holds up!

Then we wrapped it all up along with the book she made for her (I’ll post those pics tomorrow)…

For a different teacher we printed up the teacher subway art from eighteen25 and threw that in a frame quick!

For one of the games for my son’s party, I got a shower curtain from Dollar Tree and we used cheap tape (also from Dollar Tree) to make a Tic Tac Toe grid.  Then we set 6 frisbees out and the kids had to stand behind a line and see who had the best aim! Not as easy as you would think!

I also made up these clown signs and had them laminated. The kids used those water pumpers to aim and shoot at them.  For a little bit. Then they just started soaking each other!

It was a great day weather wise and I didn’t even get a headache!  There’s something about me and going in for these class parties that I ALWAYS come out with a headache!  But not today!  Feeling great!  Well, aside from the fact that I’m about to bawl because my kids are another year older…

I’ll be back tomorrow with pics of the books they made for their teachers and all the cupcakes we made!
