Every fall I host an Apple Day for the girls in my family… blah, blah, blah… I’ll share more on that later this fall when it happens…
but today I wanted to share this Apple Dabble Cake that came out of that day! My sister’s friend made it for her to taste, she brought some over to me and I was FB’ing the girl that night begging for the recipe!
These pictures really don’t do it justice… it looks all undercooked, but I promise it wasn’t!
And for whatever reason (maybe a glass of wine or two) the only picture I have of an individual bar is BAM, right up all in your face! But these cut like nice little squares and then you make this brown sugar topping to pour all over the whole thing. Nearly every brownie or bar, I want the middle piece. I will push small children out of the way trying to get to the middle piece. Not with Apple Dabble. Trust me, you want that edge. All the ooey gooey brown sugar gets all crusty at the edges and it is fantastic.
Side note: I worked with a girl once who didn’t like brown sugar!! Wha??? I honestly didn’t even know that was possible! That’s like saying you don’t like bacon… or water… or breathing! Brown sugar is the best evah!
Now go start chopping those apples!

You’re making me hungry for apple season! Is fall here yet?
This looks great! …. and for the record I HATE bacon.
Natalie, do i need to refridgerate the apple dabble cake? Because i made it tonight for a reunion tomorrow and not sure if i should leave it sitting out covered or put in fridge.
This is a great recipe! I found it on Pinteret and I have made it twice. We love it a la mode style.
I used 2 cups of soy flour and 1 cup of almond flour for the white flour. Instead oil I used 1 cup of apple sauce and I didn’tput the topping on……I just sprinkled a little bit of brown sugar on it before I baked it…….much more healthy for you. It turned out yummy! Kim C
