Even our Christmas gifts for neighbors and teachers can’t escape my love for puns!
Luckily for us, we’ve always been surrounded by people who seem to appreciate my quirky sense of humor. Or at least they’re really good at faking it!
We make these muffins every few years for neighbors, teachers, even our mailman! We don’t do it every year, because I like to vary my treats and it gives me a good excuse to make some of my favorite cookies in other years.
But when we do pass out these muffins, we’re also guaranteed a few chuckles! The nice thing about them is that they fill up a container a lot more quickly than small cookies do, so you don’t have to make as many.
They’re also just a nice change of pace. Lots and lots of people where we live, pass out homemade Christmas cookies, so the muffins can be a welcome variation to give them something to eat for breakfast.
This year, I just grabbed some of these containers from the Target Dollar Spot, filled them with tissue paper, added a gift tag and the muffins and we were set.
In previous years, I’ve picked up 6-pack muffin containers instead. I just wrap some ribbon around, added the tag and passed them out. These were nice because they were sealed if someone wanted to save them to eat later.

If you haven’t heard of my love for HP Instant Ink, you’ll have to check out the novel I wrote about it here. I won’t get into all the details again, but let’s just say it worked perfectly for these gift tags! Love not paying for ink or copies!
And it works out perfectly for fun gifts like this one…especially if you tend to lean towards the last-minute type of personality!
Just print out these tags on some heavy duty cardstock, cut them out and tuck them in with your muffins!
