Basic Desk into Side Table

Have you noticed how much I love blue and green!?    They seem to make an appearance in every room of my house.

I think they just remind me of nature! I step outside and if there’s green grass and a blue sky it’s pretty hard not to smile.  So I tend to bring it into my house too.

This pretty little side table in my entryway did not start off to great.

It was actually a free desk from a friend complete with a pull-out keyboard tray and all.

I removed the keyboard tray and all the hardware/supports for it.  Patched it all up and then just added simple pieces of wood on the sides for my shelf brackets and a piece of wood cut to fit for the shelves.  I bought some cheap molding that I nailed onto the front of each shelf.

Then it was time to paint!  This was a quick, easy project that changed the whole look and function of the piece!

This little side table gets so much use now!  Little container for our keys as we walk in the front door.  Drawers for take-out menus, stationary, postage supplies and much more!  Love my useful little side table that came from a free desk!
