Meatball and Mozzarella Appetizers are the perfect party food- easy prep, looks amazing and they’re filling!
My grandmother herself wasn’t Italian, but my uncle’s father was, and we all benefited from the delicious food! While other families were enjoying more traditional holiday meals, my grandmother was whipping up her famous lasagna and garlic bread and gifting us with an Italian-inspired meal that was bursting with flavor.
My grandmother is no longer with us, but we still try to incorporate her style of cooking in our holiday gatherings. The family has gotten so large, however, that it’s no longer feasible to have sit-down meals with everyone!
Buffets rule at our family get-togethers, but flavor is never sacrificed! So, when I was trying to think of an appetizer for a recent holiday party, I immediately thought of my family and how we celebrate not just gatherings, but my Gram’s wonderful Italian cooking!
These little appetizer cups come together so quickly and are perfect to grab off the table while you wander around the party socializing. My family looooves spaghetti and meatballs, but it isn’t really conducive to a party food. This is a great twist on the classic that looks great on your table too!
Ingredients:
Meatballs cooked in your favorite pasta sauce (I used frozen)
Mozzarella cheese cut into bite-sized pieces
Garlic Parmesan breadsticks
skewers
individual size cups
Directions: Pour a little pasta sauce in the bottom of each cup. Assemble skewers with 2 mozzarella cubes and 2 meatballs each. Cut breadsticks in half and place in cup with skewer. Serve immediately while still hot.
