An easy guide to the best photo spots in Universal Orlando Resorts as well as the most Instagrammable locations in Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida! Follow these tips so you won’t miss any prime photography sites while visiting Universal!
We were guests of Universal Studios Resorts, and thank them for the opportunity to visit their theme parks and enjoy the rides! All opinions are 100% my own!
I’m a photography nut and my very favorite “souvenirs” from our travels are the pictures I take of our kids in memorable spots! Our recent vacation to Universal Orlando Resorts was no exception! It’s so gorgeous there with the blue skies and colorfully themed parks, that it’s hard to resist breaking that camera out.
And apparently a lot of people on Instagram agree with me because the hashtag #ReadyforUniversal has almost 30K+ results! The hashtag #UniversalOrlando has over half a million results!
That’s a lot of people snapping pictures while they’re visiting Universal Orlando Resorts! So I put together some of the most Instagrammable and photogenic locations that you can use as a guide for your next visit
Universal Studios Globe
It’s only fitting that we start this post with one of the most iconic spots at Universal Studios Resorts! The Universal Studios Globe stands proud at the entrance to Universal Studios Florida theme park and is the first place you should stop to grab a picture of your crew!
Make sure you exercise a little patience and wait for the globe to turn the whole way so you can get the whole word in!
The Hollywood section of Universal Studios Florida theme park is an Instagrammers dream!
With brightly colored buildings in the style of old time Hollywood, you have your pick of fun doors, artistic window displays or classic benches to pose on!
You might even see Marilyn Monroe, Betty Boop, Lucy Ricardo or other well-loved characters wandering around this section of the park for you to grab a picture with!
One of the best features of this area is that it wasn’t too crowded, so you don’t feel obnoxious stopping and posing for pictures. You can even grab one from right in the middle of the street with the classic Florida palm trees framing you!
A little pro tip: this exact area pictured in the above photo is where the parade ends. While there are other areas to watch the parade, if you plan to watch from this spot, you’ll see an extra special show at the end of the parade route!
Scooby Doo Van
If you look extra closely at the above photo, you’ll see a turquoise van parked on the right side of the street. While you’re in the Hollywood area, head down and get a picture with the classic Scooby Doo van!
The bright colors photograph so well and you might even get a chance to see some of the characters!
Lard Lad Donuts Statue
While you’re in Universal Studios Florida, head over to Springfield! There are lots of photo opportunities in the colorful home of the Simpsons, but my favorite is the Lard Lad Donuts statue!
It’s an easy statue to stand in front of so you can be in the photo as well! Or grab a selfie with that giant donut towering over you. Even better if you buy one of the over-sized donuts at the stand in the background first!
After you leave Springfield, head over to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter- London/Diagon Alley. Right outside Diagon Alley on the main walkway is the famous Knight Bus that whizzes through the streets of London!
This is one of those stops where you don’t know if you should take a photo or a video! The conductor is there to greet you and is so interactive! My teens loved it!
After you’re done chatting, head around to the back of the bus to get a sneak peek of the inside! It’s pretty cool!
Pretty much everyone who visits Diagon Alley has a photo of Gringotts Bank and for good reason… IT IS SO COOL!!
It’s extremely crowded in this area, but you can still manage to have someone snap a picture of your family with the bank in the background!
Then be sure to wait a couple minutes to watch the dragon do his thing.
Pro tip: When you’re standing in this spot, turn back around at some point and watch the Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes storefront. It puts on a cool little show too!
Then hop on the Hogwarts Express (hopefully you bought park to park tickets), and head over to Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure theme park. As you’re walking into Hogsmeade, look off to your right.
You’ll see a replicate of the Hogwarts Express with a conductor just waiting to get his picture with you! He was the cheeriest fella around!
Of course, you can’t leave Hogsmeade without getting a picture with Hogwarts Castle behind you! You can very easily get a picture down towards the entrance to the ride.
We prefer to snap our photo on the bridge, though, that leads out of Hogwarts! Even though the bridge gets crowded, it’s easy to get a picture where it looks like no one else is around since there is only landscaping on the other side of the bridge.
Jurassic Park Jeep
Every dinosaur-loving fan out there has to grab a picture with the jeep from Jurassic Park! This may have been my son’s favorite photo spot. I even have pictures of him showing the dinosaur that he has thumbs! LOL!
Toon Lagoon in Islands of Adventure theme park is pretty much an Instagrammer’s dream! Filled with statues, interactive displays and even thought bubbles for you to pose under! You will have no shortage of pictures from this section of the park!
Marvel Super Hero Island
The Marvel area of Islands of Adventure is also filled with brightly colored buildings and statues of some of your favorite characters! My kids are always a fan of pictures where they can recreate the “statue” instead of just standing there!
The Lost Continent
While there aren’t a lot of attractions in the Lost Continent area, it is soooo photogenic!!
You can go with the classicly cool photo in front of Poseidon’s Trident…
or go silly instead like my kids always choose to do!
And whether you’re in Universal Studios Florida or Islands of Adventure, always be on the lookout for characters! You’ll find them constantly wandering around and more than happy to snap a photo with you!
And don’t forget to share those photos on Instagram using #ReadyforUniversal!
