So I’m having a blah day today. Woke up around 5:30 not feeling too hot and the feeling hasn’t passed, so I’m laying low. My plans to redo the office/loft won’t be happening, so I decided to revisit some old photos that I still need to print out. Ya know, these digital cameras are fabulous, but I have sooo many pictures that just never get printed now. I think back to the days of my 35 mm camera and I couldn’t wait to finish a roll and send it in to be printed. Sure, 18 out of the 24 pictures went right to the trash, but at least I had those 6 other prints right in my hand to hold and cherish!
Anywho… I was traipsing back through the old pics and found some of the gifts I made for my niece when she was born. I loved this little toy box I made for her and now my wheels are turning and I think I’m going to run down to the craft store (not today, though!) and see if I can still find one of these little boxes.
I’ve been looking for something, other than an open basket, that I can store my kids’ hats and gloves in during the winter. Actually, what I really meant to say is, that they can store their hats and gloves in. I want something that’s accessible to them and obvious what it is for.
I’m thinking I’ll replace “Maddie” with “Hats, Gloves and Scarfs, Oh My!”. Or actually, maybe I’ll do that on the side where it says “the blessedness of being little…”. I dunno, I’ve got to give it some though, but I think I picked this box up for about $5 and if I can do that again, well, then, I’m going to give it a shot!
By the way, my niece is now 4.5 yrs. and still has this little box in her bedroom. It was a great personalized gift for somebody who was a bit cash-strapped at the time! I also, made this little personalized nameplate for her. Just a frame I bought at a consignment store. I took the glass out, painted it, added some batting and fabric to the back and then glued the painted letters on. Yeppers, still hanging in that room!
