Do you have someone heading off to college at the end of the summer? This college survival gift basket will have them swooning and thanking you profusely!
I promise you, they will get plenty of care packages filled with chocolate chip cookies and brownies.
They will. Honest. If not, the cafeterias on campus are usually pretty rockin’. It was one of my favorite places.
Here’s your chance to send them off to college with a few things that are actually useful and will be well-appreciated!
I grew up in a family of 8 in a small house with one bathroom. So when I left for college, I was already quite used to sharing bedrooms, communal bathrooms and lots of people with different schedules. I still wasn’t quite prepared for the dorm experience, though!
For me, one of the biggest adjustments to living in a dorm was how much it interrupted my sleep patterns! I’m a VERY light sleeper to begin with, and I so would have appreciated a bottle of Sleep Essence capsules to help on those nights where everybody in my wing wanted to have a conversation right outside my door!!
I’ll admit, though, my lack of sleep wasn’t always due to the hundreds of other people who lived in the dorm with me. Sometimes it may or may not have had to do with my tendency to procrastinate and then stay up way too late trying to get papers completed! On those nights (and mornings), Young Living’s Wolfberry eye cream would have been heaven sent. Ummm, and, yeah, a bottle of En-R-Gee to get me through the next day would have been good. Great. IncrediblyAwesomeAndI’llLoveYouForever.
And remember how I mentioned all the baked goods they’ll be receiving and how they’re favoritest place ever on campus will be the cafeteria? Oh, whoops, that was just me that loved it that much?? Well, either way, college is a time when lots of junk food will be consumed. For some people, they will still remember all that junk food 15+ years later! You know what junk food does?? Wreaks havoc on your complexion! Orange Blossom face wash will be coveted by your college freshman. She may have to hide it once the other girls in the wing get a whiff of it and see how well it works!
Another important things to remember with dorm life… space is limited. As in, there isn’t exactly room for 24 different cleaners that all serve different purposes but only get used very infrequently. Nope, no room for all of those. A multi-purpose cleaner is a thing of beauty. Thieves household cleaner is top-of-the-line, because this one little bottle of concentrate can replace every cleaner under your kitchen sink and last for her entire freshman year! Just mix the concentrate with water in an empty spray bottle and she’ll have the cleanest dorm room on campus!
I threw in some lavender and lemon essential oils as well, because they are so inexpensive and can be used for SO many purposes! Trust me, my go-to for nearly everything is these two. Add in some NingXia Red individual packs, an eye mask, 2 mason jar glasses for some lemon water each morning and some fun towels, and your gift is set! I even used a brown towel on the bottom as my filler, so every part of this basket is useful!
Take a look at what some of my blog friends put together in their baskets for other special occasions! So many great ideas and you can be sure that your gift will be unique and well-used!
