Halloween at Hersheypark is filled with activities for kids and adults! The fall is a perfect time to visit Hershey for less crowds, perfect weather and plenty of activities throughout the whole town!
When my kids were younger, visiting Hersheypark during October was one of our favorite fall activities! The characters all have accessories to get them in the trick or treat spirit, the ride lines are shorter and you can’t even describe how good a Hershey’s hot chocolate is!
Hersheypark in the Dark
Hersheypark in the Dark is only open for 3 weekends in the fall so make sure you plan your visit early, so you don’t blink and it’s already over!
Not only are some of your favorite rides still open for Hersheypark in the Dark, but you can enjoy some of them in a whole new way… with the lights off! Exclusive just for Hersheypark in the Dark, you can ride Laff Track, Wildcat, Comet and Lightning Racer with the lights out! And you’ll have to tell me how it is, because I am way too chicken for that!
You’ll be able to find me over at the food stands checking out all the festive fall food that just makes an appearance this time of year! The Springcreek Smokehouse will have a special fall menu and you can also get cider flights and fall beer from the Yuengling 1829 Patio & Pavilion.
There are character photo opps with some of your favorite Hershey’s characters dressed up for Halloween, a special Glow Dance Party and, of course, the trick or treat trail stops! There are 13 candy stops total on the trick or treat trail, and 9 of them are in Hersheypark!
Pro tip: Let your kids dress up in their Halloween costumes! So many other kids will be in their Halloween-best and it makes for some great memories as they march around Hersheypark in their costumes!
Creatures of the Night at ZooAmerica
Don’t forget that included in your Hersheypark admittance is entry to ZooAmerica! During October, the zoo has a special Creatures of the Night theme that’s perfect for all ages.
Bring a flashlight and explore the zoo in the dark where you can learn all about some of the nocturnal animals. ZooAmerica is also part of the Hersheypark in the Dark trick or treat trail, so make sure your kids don’t miss those stops!
Pro tip: Even though ZooAmerica opens at 10am, the Creatures of the Night activities don’t start until 6pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Other Fall Activities in Hershey
Your fall fun doesn’t have to end just because you’ve left Hersheypark, though! Book your stay through the Hershey Lodge or the Hotel Hershey and your kids can continue to enjoy the spirit of the season.
From Halloween themed breakfast with the characters to s’mores outside and other fall activities, staying at one of the Hershey’s own properties means your hotel is one of the best parts of your vacation!
Pro tip: Don’t forget to visit the Hershey Spa! They have fall specials and treatments that are to die for!
If you aren’t able to fit Hersheypark in the Dark into your fall schedule, be sure to look ahead to Christmas in Hershey! It’s a pretty magically sweet time!
