Thrift Store Pedestal Bowls

Sharing is caring!

Just had another blogger let me know the original blog I saw this idea on, so editing to give her full credit!  Plus this girl found some amazing pieces and can take a wicked picture!  Here’s the original version that was done over at The Speckled Dog.  Aren’t her pictures stunning?!!  Seriously, why are mine so blurry??

But my story goes a little something like this…  I saw the post and I became obsessed.

As in, about 26 candlesticks later, my husband is ready to call in professional help. But as far as I’m concerned it was all worth it for these beauties!  We’ll take these one at a time!

The first one started out life as a 60 cent candlestick and 30 cent wooden bowl.

Glued them together with some wood glue

Brushed on some turquoise paint and then sanded it down a little.

Next up we have this handsome fella.  Doesn’t he look more masculine than our first little lady??

Second story, same as the first.  Started life as a candleholder and square little bowl (?).

This time I tried a turquoise spray paint.

My total for both of these was under $2! LOVE!!  Pretty sure I will definitely be using these when I host Easter and now I’m thinking a bigger one would be perfect to hold the plastic silverware rolled up in napkins.  Right now the round blue one is holding wrapped candy as part of my Easter tablescape on my buffet and the square one is on my dresser holding jewelry!  I’m sure these are not final homes for them, though!
