Before a holiday, I sit and read through my favorite cookbooks like they’re novels. I scour blogs and my favorite recipe sites. For the most part, I already know what I’m making because we kind of all have our rituals in my family and pretty much bring the same things year after year. I usually try at least one new dish, but I basically know what I’m making.
But I LOVE looking for new recipes for all the leftovers!! Seriously obsessed with leftovers.
And for all of you who follow me on Pinterest… yes, it is possible for me to pin a recipe that doesn’t include chocolate! It’s hard, but it’s possible.
Here are a bunch of recipes I’ve pinned for all the leftover turkey. And since I have a 17 lb. turkey and was just told I don’t need to bring it… I’ll have plenty of leftovers to make all of these and more!
This Turkey Cranberry Monte Cristo from Paula Deen looks incredible. Seriously drooling.
For a little bit healthier of a sandwich, this Turkey, Bacon and Havarti sandwich from Southern Living is just as drool-worthy. I adore havarti!
I will absolutely be making this Turkey Tortilla Soup from MyRecipes. Tortilla soup is one of my husband’s favorites and it will be perfect for this time of year! And, hello!!! Avocados!
This Turkey Cranberry Wreath from Fantastic Family Favorites has been a favorite recipe of ours for about 10 years now! It’s originally a Pampered Chef recipe and I ALWAYS make sure to freeze some chopped cooked turkey (2 cups to a bag), so I can quick throw one of these wreaths together for any parties we go to. Love it!
This looks like another great party food… Cranberry Quesadillas with Chutney and Brie from Martha Stewart. Of course, I’d just use regular cranberry sauce because I’m not fancy enough to even know what chutney is, but still looks fantastic!
I think my kids would love this Turkey Stromboli from Family Fun. And I like that it pretty much uses all of your leftovers, and you don’t really need much more to add to it other than the dough.
And this looks like my style… Creamy Corn and Turkey Soup from Kraft. I could go for some of this right now. Love corn in any soup!
What are your favorites ways to use up the holiday leftovers?? Anything unique out there?? Let me know and I just may give it a try and post about it!
And feel free to join me over on Pinterest for more recipe ideas (and some of them will contain chocolate!!)
